In a statement released on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, Primate Ayodele, through his media aide Osho Oluwatosin, revealed that politicians who have lost ground in their respective parties—including the PDP, APC, Labour Party, and NNPP—are planning to form a new political alliance. The goal? To unseat President Tinubu in 2027.

However, Ayodele cautioned that such a coalition would only succeed if the key players—former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, ex-Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, and Labour Party’s Peter Obi—come together and seek God’s face.

Why the Opposition is Struggling
Primate Ayodele didn’t mince words when assessing the current state of Nigeria’s opposition parties. He described them as “scared” and lacking the stamina to challenge President Tinubu.

“At the moment, no opposition has the stamina to unseat Tinubu because they are all scared of prison, death, reproach, and losses,” he said.

He also pointed out that neither Atiku nor Peter Obi can win an election on their own. “Atiku cannot win any election, Obi cannot win an election on his own,” Ayodele stated. However, he acknowledged that a united front could make a formidable team.

El-Rufai’s Role: A Force to Reckon With?
While Nasir El-Rufai has been touted as a potential key player in the proposed third force, Primate Ayodele warned that the former Kaduna State governor cannot tackle President Tinubu alone.

“The forces coming from El-Rufai cannot tackle Tinubu except very strong people are also on board,” he said.

“Let them seek the face of God before they fly the third force. They need to prepare very well before they come out with anything, otherwise, it will be a waste of energy, strength, and time,” he advised.

“People who are meant to kill these opposition parties are within the parties, and they are even the ones controlling them,” he revealed.
