    Cassie, whose legal name is Cassandra Ventura, filed a lawsuit against Combs in November, alleging years of sexual, physical, and emotional abuse. The suit was settled quickly, but it drew attention to Combs, prompting further lawsuits and a federal criminal investigation into sex trafficking, resulting in raids on his properties in Los Angeles and Miami.

    In the apology video, Combs disclosed seeking professional help, including therapy and rehab, and asked for forgiveness, expressing commitment to becoming a better person. Despite not seeking forgiveness, he reiterated his sincere apology.

    The security camera footage, dated March 5, 2016, corresponds to an incident described in Ventura’s lawsuit, alleging Combs paid the hotel $50,000 for the video immediately after.     Douglas Wigdor, Cassie’s lawyer, condemned the video, emphasizing Cassie’s bravery in coming forward. He described the footage as confirming Combs’ “disturbing and predatory behavior.
