A Rising Star’s Wish
Barcelona’s teenage sensation, Lamine Yamal, has named Bayern Munich’s Jamal Musiala as his dream signing for the Catalan club. The 17-year-old winger, who has taken La Liga by storm since his debut in 2023, shared his thoughts during an interview with Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo.
Yamal’s Meteoric Rise
Since breaking into Barcelona’s first team, Yamal has become a key player for both club and country. He played a pivotal role in helping Barcelona secure a second-place finish in La Liga last season and was instrumental in Spain’s triumphant Euro 2024 campaign. This season, the young star has continued to shine, contributing five goals and ten assists in 21 league appearances under manager Hansi Flick.
Musiala Tops Yamal’s Wishlist
When asked to name three players outside of Barcelona who inspire him the most, Yamal listed Jamal Musiala, Neymar, and Savinho. However, he made it clear that Musiala is his top pick for a dream signing.
“You want me to say Neymar… but no. Musiala, who has a contract [at Bayern Munich],” Yamal said with a smile.
Musiala’s Commitment to Bayern
Despite Yamal’s admiration, luring Musiala away from Bayern Munich won’t be easy. The German international recently signed a long-term contract extension, keeping him at the Bundesliga giants until 2030. Since joining Bayern, Musiala has scored 58 goals in 195 appearances, helping the club win four league titles, a UEFA Super Cup, a FIFA Club World Cup, and three German Super Cups.
What This Means for Barcelona
Yamal’s comments highlight the growing ambition at Barcelona to rebuild and compete at the highest level. While signing Musiala may be a long shot, the club’s focus on young, dynamic talent like Yamal signals a bright future. Fans will undoubtedly be excited to see how the team evolves under Flick’s leadership.
