Popular Nollywood actress Adesua Etomi has shared an emotional account of the challenges her family faced in 2024, revealing the health battles she and her husband, singer Banky W, endured.
In a touching Instagram post marking her 2025 birthday, Adesua reflected on the turbulent year, expressing gratitude for overcoming life-threatening medical crises.
A Year of Trials: Emergency Surgeries and Health Battles
According to Adesua, she suffered from hyperemesis for months, an extreme form of pregnancy sickness that left her hospitalized. She later had to undergo an emergency C-section after facing life-threatening complications.
“2024 really tried to take the wind out of my sails, so I’m grateful to be here celebrating my life and God’s faithfulness,” she wrote.
As if her struggles weren’t enough, she also had to support her husband, Banky W, who underwent surgery to remove a cancerous tumor.
Faith, Strength, and Resilience
Despite these challenges, Adesua remains steadfast in her faith, crediting her “incredible village” of loved ones and God’s grace for pulling her through.
“God has used this season to stretch me and show me that I’m capable of much more than I ever realized. NOW, I’m coming for everything that is mine. Nothing and nobody can stop me.”
