Danbilki Accuses Government of Neglecting Northern Economic Woes
A prominent Kano APC chieftain, Abdulmajid Danbilki Commander, has openly criticized President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, claiming his administration’s policies have exacerbated economic hardship in Northern Nigeria.
In a viral TikTok video, Danbilki, a staunch supporter of former President Muhammadu Buhari, expressed concern over soaring food prices and declining living standards, warning that Tinubu’s policies could cost him support ahead of the 2027 elections.
Rising Cost of Living: A Northern Crisis?
Danbilki specifically pointed out that staple food prices have skyrocketed, with a bag of rice jumping from N26,000 under Buhari to N96,000 under Tinubu’s government.
🔹 Inflation and economic struggles have worsened, leaving many Nigerians unable to afford basic necessities.
🔹 Government policies are failing to alleviate poverty in the North, despite the region’s strong electoral support for Tinubu.
🔹 Public trust is at risk if urgent measures aren’t taken before the next election cycle.
Northern Politicians Under Fire
Beyond blaming Tinubu, Danbilki also called out Northern politicians within the administration, accusing them of prioritizing personal gains over regional development.
He urged them to push for meaningful policies that benefit the North, reminding them that political power is temporary and that their legacy will be judged by their impact on the people.
What’s Next for Tinubu’s Government?
With growing dissatisfaction among Northern political figures and rising economic pressure, Tinubu’s administration faces a critical test in balancing national development with regional concerns.
Will the government adjust its policies to ease the burden on struggling Nigerians, or will these criticisms fuel opposition momentum ahead of 2027?
