Nigerian Singers Trade Insults Over Politics, Music, and Fanbase Rivalry
Nigerian music stars Jaywon Juwonlo and Dammy Krane recently found themselves locked in a heated war of words on social media, sparking widespread attention among fans. The dispute, which began over Davido’s past political remarks, quickly escalated into a personal exchange of insults, drawing in discussions about power, the Nigerian economy, and fanbase rivalries.
Jaywon Defends Davido’s Political Statement
The drama started when Jaywon revisited an old interview where Davido criticized the state of Nigeria’s economy. The singer called out those who had earlier dismissed Davido’s concerns, urging them to re-evaluate their stance given the country’s current situation.
“A few months ago, when Davido spoke about the state of the country in an interview, some people quickly came together to call him out as if he was lying. Abeg, where are those people today? The reality is clear that Nigerians are their own biggest problem,” Jaywon tweeted.
Many fans agreed with his sentiment, supporting his claim that Davido had spoken the truth. However, not everyone was on board.
Dammy Krane Claps Back, Calls Out Davido
Shortly after Jaywon’s post, fellow artist Dammy Krane jumped into the conversation, taking a swipe at Davido rather than responding directly to Jaywon. He accused Davido and his family of being part of the country’s systemic problems.
“Flopido and his family are part of Nigeria’s problem. Dem sef dey in power, and na dem de distribute power,” Dammy Krane responded.
His statement immediately sparked mixed reactions. While some fans supported his claim, many criticized him for making unfounded accusations against Davido without providing any evidence.
Jaywon Takes Aim at Wizkid’s Fans (FC)
Rather than backing down, Jaywon extended his attack to include Wizkid’s fanbase, popularly known as “FC.” He accused them of habitually involving themselves in conversations that do not concern them.
“Just because say you dey suffer no mean say everybody dey suffer. 97% of FCs are empty heads. Because even things wey no concern dem, dem go put mouth!!” Jaywon posted.
This statement fueled even more controversy, as Wizkid’s loyal supporters fired back at Jaywon, accusing him of clout-chasing and seeking attention.
Dammy Krane Responds With More Insults
Not one to remain silent, Dammy Krane fired another shot at Jaywon, mocking him and suggesting that he was obsessed with Davido.
“Jay-lost, na you no wan comot Flopido’s gbolahan from your mouth. I own you, Jay Jay,” he replied.
His comment implied that Jaywon was constantly defending Davido, as though he had personal stakes in the issue.
Jaywon Hits Back With Career Jabs
Refusing to let Dammy Krane have the last word, Jaywon clapped back with a stinging insult, mocking his fellow artist’s career and financial status.
“You dey curse me like say I owe your papa money. Every little thing, your career this, your career that, and your father had none,” he retorted.
At this point, the argument had shifted away from Davido’s political stance and turned into a personal battle of egos.
Social Media Reactions: Fans Take Sides
The ongoing feud quickly gained traction on social media, with fans and celebrities weighing in on the matter.
Some fans criticized Dammy Krane, accusing him of unnecessarily dragging Davido into the dispute and always trying to stay relevant by picking fights with bigger artists.
“Dammy Krane always looking for trouble. Why is he dragging Davido and his family into this? If you want to fight Jaywon, fight Jaywon,” one Twitter user wrote.
Others, however, defended Dammy Krane, saying that his criticism of Davido was valid given the alleged influence of the singer’s family in Nigerian politics.
“Dammy Krane is making sense. Davido and his people are part of the system, so why is Jaywon acting like they are innocent?” another user tweeted.
Meanwhile, Wizkid’s fans, known as FC, also took offense to Jaywon’s insult, launching their own verbal attacks against him.
“Jaywon calling FC empty-headed? This one just wants to trend because his career is dead. We no send you,” one FC member posted.

Is This the Start of a Bigger Feud?
While celebrity feuds are nothing new in the Nigerian music industry, this latest dispute between Jaywon and Dammy Krane has raised questions about the growing tension among artists.
With the ongoing political and economic crisis in Nigeria, it is not surprising that musicians are becoming more vocal. However, rather than focusing on real issues, the conversation has now turned into a bitter exchange of personal insults.
Will Jaywon and Dammy Krane continue their social media battle, or will they eventually bury the hatchet? Only time will tell.
