El-Rufai Vows Revenge in 2027 Over Kidnap of Ex-Chief of Staff

The former Kaduna governor hints at political payback, implicates police and judiciary in the abduction saga.
Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has made a bold declaration, vowing that those responsible for the kidnap of his former Chief of Staff, Bashir Saidu, will face consequences by 2027.

El-Rufai claims that Saidu, who has now been released after 50 days in captivity, was targeted due to his dominance in Kaduna’s progressive politics.

El-Rufai Speaks Out on X
Taking to his official X (formerly Twitter) handle, El-Rufai expressed his outrage over the abduction, promising to expose those involved, including some members of the police force and judiciary.

“Bashir Saidu is now free after 50 days of abduction and unjustified incarceration. He has been my friend for over 53 years—my classmate at Barewa College, a former Commissioner, and my Chief of Staff. His persecution was politically motivated,” he wrote.

El-Rufai also hinted at political retaliation:

“The payback for those behind this will be known on or before the 2027 elections, In Sha Allah.”

Allegations Against Police and Judiciary
The former governor alleged that some policemen played a role in the abduction, while certain judges deliberately delayed bail for offenses that were legally bailable.

“The role of some policemen, as well as the conduct of judges from the Federal High Court and State High Court, in obstructing and delaying bail was quite enlightening. All facts will soon be exposed in the court of public opinion,” he stated.

Political Implications
El-Rufai’s statement suggests that the abduction of Bashir Saidu might not just be a criminal act but a politically motivated attack. With the 2027 elections looming, this could set the stage for a fierce political battle in Kaduna State and beyond.

As the situation unfolds, Nigerians await the full details of El-Rufai’s promised revelations.
