“Notorious Bandit Dogo Neutralized: Police End Reign of Terror in FCT Communities”

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has successfully neutralized Salisu Mohammed, alias Dogo Saleh, a notorious bandit responsible for terrorizing at least ten communities in Abuja. The operation, which took place in Kwasau Forest, Kaduna State, marks a significant victory in the fight against kidnapping and banditry in the region.

“A High-Risk Operation: How Dogo Was Brought Down”

According to SP Josephine Adeh, the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, the operation was part of an intense counter-kidnapping initiative aimed at dismantling a criminal syndicate operating along the Kaduna-Lokoja-Enugu highway and within the FCT.

On March 3, 2025, operatives from the Anti-Kidnapping Unit blocked the access routes used by the criminals. Leveraging intelligence from an arrested suspect, the police launched a follow-up operation on March 4 to target Dogo’s gang members.

The suspect led the police to Kwasau Forest in Kagarko Local Government Area, Kaduna State, where the gang had established a major hideout. However, upon arrival, the police team was ambushed by armed bandits attempting to free Dogo.

“Fierce Gun Battle: Police Overpower Bandits”

In a dramatic turn of events, the police engaged the bandits in a fierce gun battle. Despite the ambush, the operatives displayed superior tactical expertise and resilience, overpowering the criminals and forcing them to flee into the forest with severe gunshot wounds.

Dogo sustained fatal injuries during the crossfire, reportedly inflicted by his own gang members. He was rushed to Kubwa General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

“Dogo’s Reign of Terror: A Timeline of Attacks”

Dogo and his gang were responsible for a series of attacks in at least ten villages across the FCT, spreading fear and chaos among residents. His arrest and subsequent neutralization bring relief to communities that have long suffered under his reign of terror.

“What’s Next for FCT Security?”

The successful operation underscores the FCT Police Command’s commitment to tackling insecurity in the region. However, the escape of other gang members highlights the ongoing challenges in completely dismantling criminal networks.

The police have vowed to continue their efforts to ensure the safety and security of FCT residents, urging the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities.
