“Ndidi Reflects on Leicester City’s 2-0 Loss to Arsenal: ‘We Were Unlucky’”

Late Goals Seal Leicester’s Fate
Leicester City midfielder Wilfried Ndidi has opened up about the Foxes’ disappointing 2-0 loss to Arsenal at the King Power Stadium, attributing the defeat to a combination of bad luck and Arsenal’s relentless pressure.

The match, which saw Leicester hold their own for much of the game, took a turn in the closing stages when substitute Mikel Merino came off the bench to score a brace, handing Arsenal the win. This loss marks Leicester’s third consecutive defeat, leaving them in 19th place with just 17 points, two points adrift of safety.

Ndidi’s Take on the Game
Speaking to Leicester TV after the match, Ndidi admitted that the team fought hard but were ultimately undone by Arsenal’s quality.

“It was a difficult game. We stayed in it until they scored the first goal,” Ndidi said. “It’s quite a tough game, but we did well, to be honest. We needed to because we were playing against a top team, and it’s something we will take the positives from into the next game.”

Ndidi emphasized that Leicester remained competitive throughout the match but were unlucky to concede the first goal. “We knew we were still in the game. We were just unlucky to concede the first goal. We were still in it because we stayed together and compact,” he added.

Praise for Arsenal’s Dominance
The Nigerian midfielder also acknowledged Arsenal’s superior ball control and tactical discipline, which made it difficult for Leicester to break them down.

“They are very good at keeping the ball, positioning, and trying to get at us,” Ndidi said. “It’s something we have to learn from and improve on.”

What’s Next for Leicester?
With relegation looming large, Leicester City must regroup quickly and find a way to turn their fortunes around. Ndidi’s comments suggest that the team is focused on taking the positives from their performances, even in defeat, as they fight to secure their Premier League status.
