2027 Showdown: Tambuwal Declares War on APC, Vows to Sack Tinubu’s Government

Defections Are About Selfish Gains, Not Public Interest
Former Sokoto State Governor and prominent PDP leader, Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, has fired shots at the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), dismissing the recent wave of defections to the party as nothing more than politicians chasing personal gains. Speaking after the PDP Northwest Zonal Executive Council Meeting in Kaduna, Tambuwal didn’t hold back, labeling the defectors as self-serving individuals prioritizing what he called “stomach infrastructure” over the welfare of the people.

“Let’s be honest,” Tambuwal said, “these defections aren’t about serving the people. They’re about personal interests—what’s in it for them. It’s disappointing, but not surprising.”

APC Government Lacks Vision and Empathy, Says Tambuwal
Tambuwal didn’t stop at criticizing defectors. He took aim at the APC-led federal government, accusing it of failing Nigerians on all fronts. According to him, the Tinubu administration lacks vision, empathy, and a clear direction, leaving the country in a state of economic hardship.

“Any politician with a conscience wouldn’t align with the APC,” Tambuwal declared. “This government has failed to address the challenges facing Nigerians. From the economy to security, it’s been one disappointment after another.”

PDP Gears Up for 2027: Unity and Strategy Are Key
Tambuwal called on opposition forces to unite and strategize ahead of the 2027 elections. He emphasized the need for the PDP and other like-minded parties to present a strong, viable alternative to the APC.

“There’s nothing attractive about the APC beyond personal benefits,” he stated. “Those of us who are truly committed to this country and to public service must come together. By 2027, we will remove this administration that has failed Nigerians.”

PDP Northwest Reaffirms Commitment to Reclaim Power
The PDP Northwest zone echoed Tambuwal’s sentiments, reaffirming its determination to reclaim power in 2027. In a communiqué read by the Zonal Chairman, Senator Bello Hayatu Gwarzo, the party stressed the importance of unity and strategic mobilization to achieve its goal.

The meeting concluded with a clear message: the PDP is ready to fight for Nigeria’s future and provide the leadership the country desperately needs.

Why This Matters
Tambuwal’s bold statements and the PDP’s renewed focus on 2027 signal a growing momentum within the opposition. With the APC facing criticism on multiple fronts, the stage is set for a political showdown that could reshape Nigeria’s future.
