“Zaria Set to Become an Educational Hub: Seven New Federal Institutions Coming in 2025 Budget”

Zaria, already renowned as a center of learning in Nigeria, is poised to solidify its status as an educational powerhouse. Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dr. Abbas Tajudeen, has announced that the Zaria Federal Constituency will benefit from the establishment of seven new federal institutions in the 2025 budget.

The announcement was made during a Ramadan Iftar event in Zaria, where Tajudeen outlined plans to transform the city into a hub for higher education and skill acquisition. Here’s what you need to know about this exciting development.

A Boost for Education in Zaria
Tajudeen revealed that the 2025 budget includes provisions for seven new federal institutions aimed at expanding educational opportunities and fostering skill development in Zaria.

“With the 2025 budget now enacted, we are committed to strengthening the educational landscape of Zaria. Seven new federal institutions will be established to provide more opportunities for learning and skill acquisition,” he said.

The New Institutions
The institutions to be established include:

Federal College of Agriculture

Federal Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Institute

Federal Technical College

Centre for Management Development

Technology Incubation Centre

School for the Disabled (Primary and Secondary)

Four new federal secondary schools

These institutions are expected to cater to a wide range of educational and vocational needs, ensuring that Zaria remains at the forefront of Nigeria’s educational development.

Scholarships for Underprivileged Students
In addition to the new institutions, Tajudeen announced plans to support students through scholarship schemes.

“Funds will soon be released for the scholarships of 2,500 underprivileged students in tertiary institutions, and an additional 4,000 students will be included in the scheme,” he disclosed.

This initiative aims to make education more accessible to disadvantaged students, empowering them to contribute to the nation’s growth.

A Grateful Speaker
Tajudeen expressed his gratitude to the people of Zaria for their unwavering support, crediting them for his achievements in the National Assembly.

“Your support has been instrumental in enabling me to push for policies and projects that benefit our people. I remain committed to delivering on my promises,” he said.

He also called on citizens to pray for President Bola Tinubu, emphasizing the importance of spiritual support in addressing national challenges.

Praise from the APC
Alhaji Garba-Datti Babawo, the National Vice Chairman (North-West) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), commended Tajudeen for his inclusive leadership style and efforts to foster unity within the National Assembly.

Why This Matters
The establishment of these institutions represents a significant step forward for Zaria and Nigeria as a whole. By investing in education and skill development, the government is laying the foundation for a brighter future, empowering individuals, and driving national progress.

As Zaria prepares to welcome these new institutions, the city’s reputation as a center of excellence in education is set to reach new heights.
