“NSCDC Announces Fresh Recruitment, Set to Bolster Security Workforce”

A Boost for Nigeria’s Security
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) is gearing up for a fresh recruitment exercise, as announced by its Commandant-General, Ahmed Audi. The move, approved by the Federal Government, aims to bring qualified and well-behaved Nigerians into the Corps to enhance its capacity to protect lives and property across the country.

The announcement was made during the inauguration of the NSCDC Bwari Divisional Office in Abuja on Wednesday, March 5, 2025.

Recruitment Details: What We Know So Far
While the exact commencement date for the recruitment exercise has not been disclosed, Audi confirmed that the Corps has received the necessary approvals to proceed.

“We are preparing to recruit officially, and we appreciate Mr. President for the approval to recruit well-behaved Nigerians into the service,” Audi stated.

This recruitment drive is expected to address staffing gaps and strengthen the NSCDC’s ability to tackle emerging security challenges, including vandalism, terrorism, and communal clashes.

Bwari Divisional Office: A Step Toward Enhanced Security
The inauguration of the NSCDC Bwari Divisional Office marks a significant milestone in the Corps’ efforts to improve security at the grassroots level. Audi commended the Bwari Area Council for constructing the facility, noting that it would enhance operational efficiency and response times in the area.

FCT Commandant Olusola Odumosu also praised the Chairman of Bwari Area Council, Dr. John Gabaya, for providing a befitting office for the Corps. He highlighted the challenges faced by operatives, including the maintenance and fueling of operational vehicles, and appealed for additional support to address these issues.

Expanding NSCDC’s Reach
Odumosu revealed that the FCT Command has made significant strides in expanding its presence, creating two new divisions, two area commands, and several observation posts since he assumed office.

“These are moves to get closer to the people, to have a better assessment and understanding of the peculiar security situation at the local levels, and for more results-oriented operational planning,” he explained.

Conclusion: Strengthening Nigeria’s Security Framework
The upcoming recruitment exercise and the inauguration of the Bwari Divisional Office underscore the NSCDC’s commitment to enhancing security across Nigeria. By bringing in new personnel and improving operational infrastructure, the Corps is better positioned to address the nation’s security challenges and protect its citizens.

As the recruitment process unfolds, Nigerians are encouraged to seize this opportunity to contribute to national security and serve their country.
