Relentless Fight Against Terrorism
In a series of decisive military operations across Nigeria, gallant troops of the Nigerian Army have neutralized several terrorists, dismantled hideouts, and seized massive caches of weapons.
The military’s success was confirmed in a statement shared across its social media platforms, highlighting critical victories in Borno, Zamfara, and Kwara States.
Major Assault in Borno State
On Saturday, March 1, 2025, troops deployed in Bama Local Government Area of Borno State launched a fierce attack on a heavily fortified terrorist stronghold. Acting on credible intelligence that insurgents were regrouping to wreak havoc around Fallujah and nearby villages, the troops struck with full force.
During the operation, they overpowered the terrorists and recovered:
11 Rocket-Propelled Grenade (RPG) bombs
760 rounds of 7.62mm linked ammunition
220 rounds of 12.7mm linked ammunition
One AK-47 rifle
440 rounds of 7.62mm x 54mm ammunition
Additionally, in Unguwan Abdullahi, a known terrorist-infested settlement, troops conducted a clearance operation, destroying terrorist life-support structures and uncovering underground stockpiles of food supplies meant to sustain the insurgents.
As the troops advanced toward Garin Fallujah, they engaged the terrorists in a fierce gun battle, forcing them into disarray. Among those neutralized was a high-value target, Abba Alai (Amirul Khahid of Alafa), a notorious terrorist commander on the security watchlist.
Weapons Recovered in Other Operations
The military continued its sweep through Ukuba Forest, capturing an alarming collection of heavy weaponry, including:
Two General-Purpose Machine Guns (GPMG)
A Mowag armored tank engine
Heavy-duty vehicle engine components
Meanwhile, in Zamfara State, troops ambushed another group of terrorists, killing one while others fled in confusion, abandoning two motorcycles.
Rescue Operation in Kwara State
In Karunji village, Baruten Local Government Area of Kwara State, the army raided a well-known kidnappers’ enclave. The criminals, caught off guard, fled in panic, leaving behind their captives.
The successful rescue operation led to the recovery of:
A locally made pistol
Six Dane guns
