Nigerian Travel Creator Alma Asinobi Aims for World Record: Seven Continents in 70 Hours

Nigerian travel content creator Alma Asinobi is set to embark on an extraordinary journey—visiting all seven continents in just 70 hours in a bid to set a new Guinness World Record.

A Groundbreaking Adventure
Alma’s historic trip will begin on March 15, 2025, kicking off in Australia and concluding in Nigeria. If successful, she will shatter the existing record for the fastest time to visit all continents, currently held by Indian travelers Ali Irani and Sujoy Kumar Mitra, who completed the feat in three days, one hour, five minutes, and four seconds.

Raising Awareness on Passport Privilege
Beyond breaking records, Alma is using this challenge to highlight the struggles of passport privilege for African travelers.

In a heartfelt video posted on her Instagram page, she shared:

“I’m doing this with a Nigerian passport to shed more light on the issue of passport privilege. After applying for more than 10 visas—and facing five rejections—I realized just how difficult travel can be for citizens with low-mobility passports.”

She further emphasized that this journey is about inspiring Africans to push boundaries, despite visa restrictions and travel limitations.

Challenges Ahead: Visa Struggles and Travel Restrictions
One of the biggest hurdles Alma faced was visa approvals. She applied for over 10 visas, experiencing multiple rejections along the way.

This challenge is one that millions of Africans face, with passport strength ranking affecting global mobility. By taking on this journey, Alma aims to spark conversations about the inequality in visa policies and how they disproportionately affect travelers from developing nations.

Can She Set a New World Record?
With the clock ticking, Alma’s attempt will require strategic flight connections, perfect timing, and unwavering determination. If she succeeds, she will become the fastest person in history to visit all continents—and the first Nigerian to achieve such a feat.

Her journey is not just about speed; it’s a powerful statement on travel limitations, resilience, and breaking boundaries.
