“32 Artillery Brigade Commander Seeks Stronger Security Synergy to Combat Insecurity in Ekiti”

A United Front Against Insecurity
Brigadier General Justin Ifeanyi, Commander of the 32 Artillery Brigade, has emphasized the need for enhanced collaboration among security agencies to tackle the growing insecurity in Ekiti State. During a familiarization tour of key security formations on February 18, 2025, General Ifeanyi stressed the importance of unity and cooperation to create a safer environment for residents.

Strengthening Ties with the Police
One of the highlights of the tour was the visit to the Ekiti State Police Headquarters. Brigadier General Ifeanyi expressed his commitment to building on the existing partnership with the police, stating that such collaboration would curb the activities of non-state actors and foster a peaceful atmosphere for economic growth.

In response, Ekiti State Commissioner of Police, CP Joseph Eribo, welcomed the initiative, describing the Nigerian Army and Police as allies with a shared goal of ensuring peace and safety. He assured the Brigade Commander of the police’s readiness to deepen collaboration for the benefit of the people.

Collaboration with the DSS
The Brigade Commander also visited the Department of State Services (DSS) in Ekiti State, where he met with the State Director, Mr. Godwin Ejimofor Eze. Both leaders agreed on the need for a united approach to address the complex security challenges facing the state and the nation.

Mr. Eze commended General Ifeanyi for his proactive efforts to foster unity among security agencies and pledged the DSS’s support in achieving their shared objectives.

Partnering with Amotekun
The tour included a visit to the Ekiti State Security Network Agency, popularly known as Amotekun. Brigadier General Ifeanyi met with the agency’s Commander, Brigadier General Ibukun Adewa (Rtd), to discuss strategies for tackling security threats.

General Adewa acknowledged the significant role played by the 32 Artillery Brigade in safeguarding lives and property in Ekiti. He reiterated Amotekun’s commitment to working closely with the Nigerian Army to ensure the state’s security.

A Symbolic Gesture of Unity
The visits were marked by symbolic gestures, including the exchange of souvenirs, signing of visitor’s books, and group photographs. These actions underscored the shared commitment of all security agencies to work together for the common good.
